Job Profile

The company is searching for a Pipe Welder who will be responsible for completing each weld to the specified standards using appropriate equipment and materials.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma (a plus)

Work Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of industrial construction/maintenance industry experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for welding
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit components together
  • May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using a cutting torch, a straightening press, and hand tools
  • Miter and fabricate all pipe
  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
  • Set up equipment and weld parts together using arc, gas shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment. May assemble parts by bolting and riveting
  • Use a variety of arc and gas welding equipment
  • Additional responsibilities not listed may be required

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Follows strict safety and welding standards
  • Inspects weld quality and integrity
  • Measures, cuts, and aligns pipes accurately
  • Proficient in TIG, MIG, and stick welding
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and drawings

Work Environment

  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions.
