Duties/Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the local delivery and execution of core pipefitting to employees and managers in accordance with Johnson Controls principles, corporate policies and procedures, and plant operations.
• Perform a variety of employment-related functions for the ultimate purpose of enhancing employee engagement, safety and health, productivity, and ensuring employee compliance with Company policies in a manufacturing facility.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to draw appropriate sketches to communicate details
• Ability to read building specifications and blueprints
• Active and current Pipefitter apprenticeship through an accredited organization
• Assist Pipefitters and Welders with the measuring, tracking, grinding, cutting, and rigging of materials
• Effective verbal and listening communications skills
• Gather materials
• Makes suggestions for improvement.
• MIG Welding skills
• Proactive in ensuring job knowledge is current
• Receptive to change – can adapt to changing circumstances.
• Time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• The ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs. for 50 feet is required.
• The job requires an ability to work with tools.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) will be required (e.g., hard hat, safety boots, etc.) Hazards associated with the industry.
