Job Profile
The company is looking for a Pipefitter who will be responsible for completing the mechanical tasks associated with the maintenance activities.
Be a problem solver experienced in mechanical maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
Possess the ability to conduct preventive and predictive maintenance procedures, troubleshoot equipment failures, complete production machine set-ups and change-overs, and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
Education Level
- Journeyman Pipefitter or an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science or equivalent certification program from a technical school emphasizing Pipefitting or equipment mechanics.
- Equivalent relevant years of experience in these fields of study will also be considered.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Maintenance Pipefitter in a manufacturing facility; experience in an FDA-controlled industry is preferred.
- Experience with mechanical equipment repair is essential.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Complete pre-task analyses for his/her maintenance activities.
- Complete production machine set-ups and change-overs.
- Conduct inspections and repairs of heat exchangers, dryers, and process vessels.
- Conduct inspections of mechanical equipment.
- Conduct measurements and inspections using calibrated test equipment.
- Conduct piping repairs to process and utility systems.
- Conduct routine installations of new piping systems utilizing carbon steel, stainless steel, lined pipe, etc.
- Conduct routine installations of sanitary piping systems.
- Conduct routine pipe repairs and modifications to piping systems.
- Conduct routine repairs to mechanical equipment following all plant work instructions and safety procedures.
- Conduct safety observations as needed.
- Conduct troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission systems.
- Diagnose plant equipment problems.
- Implement equipment modifications or replacements.
- Maintain equipment in area of responsibility.
- Perform predictive and preventive maintenance procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Extensive training will be required to meet all regulatory, safety, and security requirements.
- Familiarity with and full adherence to cGMP, OSHA, and FED regulations are required.
- For certain positions, employees must be able to wear a respirator.
- Knowledge of cGMP Guidelines and Mechanical Piping Specifications is a plus.
- Must lift up to fifty (50) pounds unassisted regularly.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods while working.
- Must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule including nights and weekends.
- Welding capability is a plus.
