Job Profile
The company is searching for a Pipefitter Steamfitter who will be responsible for housing and piping of tools, fixtures, and associated equipment used primarily within robotic/automated assembly lines for the automotive industry.
Be familiar with Parker 801 hose, push-to-connect tubing, and fittings.
Responsible for threading and grooving sch. 40 pipe up to 4”. Experience in reading pneumatic schematics and troubleshooting.
Education Level
- High School Diploma (credible)
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive assembly/tooling or assembly systems
Duties/Responsibilities
- Anticipate and solve problems
- Carry out special projects
- Consult your Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor if you are not 100% sure of how to perform tasks safely.
- Ensure that your work area is kept clean, tidy, and organized at all times to prevent accidents and produce quality products.
- Fabricate and weld valve bank frames and other welding requirements
- Follow all ISO Standard Operating Procedures to ensure world-class quality products are supplied to our customers.
- Follow all safety rules, standards, and procedures at all times in all areas.
- Install and maintain the pressure system of piping
- Know what types of Personal Protective Equipment are required for the jobs in your area and always use them properly.
- Operate various machine tools and equipment
- Safely perform assigned tasks and know how to properly lock out all energy sources, including stored energy.
- Prepare own layouts
- Read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings
- Report all unusual circumstances and actively participate in and support Continuous Improvements.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic components and water systems
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within the trade
- Ability to read/interpret blueprints accurately, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
- Ability to work as a team member and individually
- Good communication skills
- Good mathematical skills
- Knowledge of adhesive glue systems
- Knowledge of lubrication systems and air compressors
- Must be able to use hand tools (hand benders, power threaders, hydraulic hose grimpers, etc.)
- Must have own tools
- Some machining skills (lathe, milling machines, drill press, surface grinders, etc.)
- Understand precision equipment such as pumps, hydraulic motors, CNC boring mills, and other shop equipment
Work Environment
- Exposed to heat, steam, and loud noise
- Handles heavy tools and materials
- Often in cramped or high places
- Wears protective gear daily
- Works indoors and outdoors in all weather
