Job Profile

The company is looking for a Pipeline Infrastructure Engineer who will act as an Engineer and Principal Investigator to perform research and testing efforts focused on bringing new technologies, processes, and methods to the natural gas/energy industry.

Participate in research and testing efforts with the natural gas industry as well as support cross-cutting research in the areas of hydrogen and renewable energy-related projects.

The position will report to an R&D Manager in the Energy Delivery group.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Sciences from a college/university

Work Experience

  • Possess 2 to 5 years of relevant R&D or consulting/engineering experience in the energy industry (desired)
  • Experimental and field research experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering or basic science knowledge and testing techniques to solve customers’ problems.
  • Assist in the development of materials testing protocols and forensic failure investigations.
  • Lead or assist in the development of project proposals.
  • May also provide technical direction to subordinate staff such as technicians and collaborate with peers.
  • Work in research areas focused on gas piping systems, material testing, and failure analysis.
  • Work independently on engineering problems and be capable of conducting work requiring independent judgment and evaluation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (compliance requirement)

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Abilities to communicate well orally and in writing, and work effectively as a team/project member are necessary
  • Familiarity with failure analysis instruments and procedures
  • Fundamental knowledge in the areas of mechanical engineering and related engineering fields
  • Hands-on skills in a laboratory environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Technical ability to interpret test results and articulate them in writing
