Job Profile
The company is seeking a Piping Engineer 3 who will design piping systems for a variety of facility projects.
Provide expertise in piping specifications and piping stress analysis.
Be responsible for technical preparation and development of the pipe shop/field fabrication, welding, insulation, piping materials, double containment pipe (DCP), valve specifications, and valve selection.
The engineer will typically work in a design team environment consisting of a project manager, project engineer, and multi-discipline architectural and engineering staff to produce project design packages of drawings, specifications, and calculations.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (college/university) or a related scientific field with a minimum of 5 years of piping engineering/design experience or equivalent.
- PE license (preferred)
Work Experience
- B31.3 experience
- Experience with Plant 3D
- Piping Specifications experience
- Piping Stress Analysis experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Participates in client design reviews.
- Periodic travel to the job site and client offices site locations may be required.
- Responsible to attend leads meetings, discipline meetings, and model review meetings on an as-needed basis to support the piping lead and
- Review and populate Line Lists, Valve Lists, and P&IDs for accuracy and correctness.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Good communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs
- May require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance
- May require travel
- Previous experience with Department of Energy (DOE) projects (preferred)
- Due to the nature of the work, the candidate must be US Citizen
