Job Profile
The company is looking for a Plant Operator I who will be responsible for operating a C02 Capture facility to ensure optimum plant performance, including monitoring processing equipment, performing inspections, and conducting preventive maintenance.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- Possess work-related experience (a plus)
License/Certification
- Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required
Duties/Responsibilities
- Critical thinking skills are required while operating a facility concerning incident management.
- During times of construction, retrofits, downtime, and other non-operating conditions, seek to help prioritize facility needs to maximize the skillsets of the available team members to achieve the timeliest, safest, cost-effective, and best outcomes.
- Monitor plant equipment and troubleshoot plant issues with solution-based mindsets.
- Optimize processing throughout the facility and maintain proper product specifications
- Provides communication to the Wood Site Supervisor and client to ensure alignment on process equipment conditions, production targets, and facility challenges.
- Understand safety procedures and safety mechanisms to ensure safety standards are met, maintained, and optimized.
- Work schedules are shift work, rotating 12-hour shifts
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to “adjust on the fly” to changing priorities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug, background, and fit test.
- Must be able to positively interface effectively with co-workers, 3rd party support, and the site management team
- Must be capable of vigorous outdoor activities and have manual dexterity with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods on catwalks, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions
- Must be capable of working at elevated heights with proper PPE. Ladders and man lifts.
- Must have basic computer skills, including Excel and Word, for example.
- Possess a valid driver’s license
