Job Profile

The company is seeking a Press Brake Operator who will set up and operate CNC Press Brakes to form/bend/flatten various types of metal parts to customer print specifications.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Work Experience

  • Relevant apprenticeship, experience, or vocational training (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Cleans and organizes work area.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
  • Download the program file to the machine controller.
  • Observe/listen to a machine to detect malfunctions.
  • Perform inspection processes.
  • Read and interpret provided prints and customer specifications.
  • Records information in manufacturing software.
  • Remove burrs and stage parts before forming.
  • Review work order and specifications to determine set up procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of the finished workpiece.
  • Set up and operate CNC Press Brakes including adjustment or replacement of tooling, guides, and fixtures. Use multiple vices and work offsets.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.
  • Ability to convert metric to English and vice versa.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and bander.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper, and micrometer.
  • Capable of setting up and operating one or more processing machines.
  • Provide high-quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.
  • Speak, write, and comprehend conversational English.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop for long periods.
  • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. repetitively throughout a shift.
  • Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.
  • Ability to walk 205 miles throughout a shift.
  • Have a good vision of 20/30 with corrective lenses.

Environmental Conditions

  • Atmospheric conditions: one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin- fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • Hazards: a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat, or exposure to chemicals.
  • Oils: there is air or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
