Job Profile
The company is seeking a Press Operator who will be involved in the machining or processing of metal parts by operating hydraulic Press Machines.
Educational Level
- Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- Experience in Okuma, Mazak, and Mori lathe machines (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Document production information such as lot number, number of pieces, and date/time of production.
- Examines completed workpieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces, and sorts defective pieces
- Examines the finished part for nicks, burrs, and cracks.
- Makes necessary adjustments to the machine to ensure quality output
- Measures completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, or calipers.
- Observes press operations and notifies the Lead Person of any malfunctions.
- Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct workpieces, using hand tools and measuring devices.
- Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Starts machines, monitors machine operation, and records operational data.
- Weighs parts on the scale and measures dimensions to ensure conformance to specifications.

- Ability to document machining procedures
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment
- Ability to work in a team setting
- Consistently stand for an entire shift
- Great work ethic, reliable, positive attitude
- Knowledge of all required measuring equipment which includes calipers, gauges
- Knowledge of metals, part-holding fixtures, and lathe/mill tooling
- Physically able to handle heavy items, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components
- Proficient math skills
- Simple oral communication skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English and complete simple logs and reports in English
- Strong knowledge of machining practices and materials is a must, as is general mechanical knowledge
- Willingness to be trained with a desire to learn
- Work scheduled hours and comply with the company’s timekeeping policy and all other company policies
