Job Profile
The company is looking for a Process Engineer with a focus in welding to join its Manufacturing team.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Technology, or other related discipline (college/university)
Work Experience
- 2 years of experience in aerospace fabricating working with nickel, stainless, ferrous, and aluminum alloys, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with blending/polishing of welded surfaces
- Experience with metal working best practices
- Experience with surface finish and lapping application
- Experience with Tube Bending
- Experience working with Torch Weld Jigs (TWJ), setting weldments up for exact shrinkages to fit TWJ post-weld
- Experience using appropriate PPE
Duties/Responsibilities
- Accurately report problems, solutions, and results, in concise written and oral communications.
- Communicate effectively between team members and customer counterparts.
- Define Blueprint/Specification requirements.
- Develop and document best practices to support production.
- Oversee and troubleshoot critical weld fit-ups ensuring cleanliness requirements and best practices are followed.
- Perform root cause analysis and disposition discrepant hardware.
- Perform statistical process analysis of fitting processes.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Demonstrated teaming skills.
- Familiarity working with electronic planning, drawings, and pertinent documents such as weld parameters.
- Moving large structures or hardware.
- Strong analytical and communication skills (written and oral) are required, along with the ability to lead teams and work in a collaborative team environment.
- Using electronic planning and drawings.
