Job Profile
The company is hiring a Process Engineer who will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in process efficiency, cost management, production, and product quality.
Involves collaborating with various departments to enhance process flow and working closely with Maintenance and Production teams to ensure reliability and maximize process uptime.
Additionally, support and design automation and control systems to optimize plant operations.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related.
Work Experience
- At least 3 years of process Engineering experience
- At least 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyze operational data to optimize methods and ensure the ongoing effectiveness of systems.
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and drive improvements aimed at reducing waste and variation in operations.
- Conduct system checks to verify that processes and designs are functioning as intended and in compliance with established specifications.
- Coordinate the 5S workplace efficiency program as a foundational element of lean practices.
- Develop and present business cases to address and reduce process variation and waste.
- Drive the capture, documentation, and standardization of best practices across shifts, focusing on consistent training and performance optimization.
- Ensure safe handling and use of chemicals, maintaining a strong understanding of safety protocols.
- Identify ergonomic risks and actively engage in efforts to reduce them, enhancing workplace safety and productivity.
- Lead the implementation, sponsorship, and ongoing support of continuous reliability improvement standards and practices across all processes.
- Oversee projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budgetary requirements.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Experience with casting or extrusion metallurgy.
- Experience with fabrication and or industrial painting.
- Fluent in English
- Fluent in Spanish.
- Strong mathematical skills, particularly in process and manufacturing statistics.
Work Environment
- Exposure to machinery, noise, and chemicals is common.
- May work long hours to meet production goals.
- Spends time in both the office and production floor environments.
- Typically works in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Wears safety gear when on-site.
