The company (Boeing Defense, Space, and Security) is seeking a Process Mechanic (Chemical Processor) to join its Chemical Processing team.

Educational Qualification

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Add dry chemicals to maintain the solution as directed.
  • Blend, apply stripes and bands; apply insignia and lettering with aids such as templates, stencils, and silk screens.
  • Calculate the chemical milling rate and determine the processing time required to chemical mill parts. Chemically mill parts require tapers and progressive chemical milling by inserting and removing parts from chemical milling solution.
  • Check density and temperature. Determine process times and equipment settings.
  • Clean or otherwise prepare parts to be chemically milled. Chemically mill parts by inserting and removing parts from chemical milling.
  • Control and operate electrochemical and chemical metal cleaning, treating, and caustic etching processes such as anodizing, color anodizing, alodining, hard coating, HAE, humidity bake, Dow17, dips, washes, and dries.
  • Cut, drill, burr, file, trim, sand, clean, polish, identify and finish from simple parts.
  • Fabricate sheet metal parts using a variety of tools.
  • Fabricate stencils, mix paints, layout and apply stripes, layout and apply insignias.
  • Form and modify various types of tubes on all types of tube bending equipment.
  • Form regular and irregular shapes and contours.
  • Hand route and drill parts and hand form parts.
  • Insert and remove parts from cleaning solutions for the cleaning process.
  • Lay out, cut, trim, and sew coverings.
  • Lay out and mark the finish trim on the tubing. Square, burr, identify, mask, cap, preserve, apply color codes, cut, bend, route, and install to determine the size and shape of tubing, cables, and those working on aircraft and aircraft mock-ups. Cut, bend, flare, and bead tubings; cut and swage cable; cut and assemble hose fittings; test cable, hose, and tubing.
  • Lay out and paint lettering, pictures, and background with or without aids.
  • Lay out, set up, and operate power roll, power shears, power brakes, metal disintegrator, punch presses, circular and band saws, shaper, routers, and accessories.
  • Lay out, spray paint, and apply finish coats on the exterior surface of completed aircraft and major assemblies.
  • Load, unload, control, and operate electrolytic and chemical plating equipment and accessories.
  • Maintain solution at proper temperature, composition, and strength.
  • Operate ion exchanges, pumps, ovens, degreasers, and impregnators. Operate generators, rectifiers, and change charts on heat recording instruments. Measure or check parts for completion.
  • Perform such work as blanking, forming, bending, piercing, perforating, punching, flanging, slotting, and hot forming on various parts.
  • Polish completed aircraft and major assemblies. Mix and apply paint, sealers, and fillers. Mask, wire or otherwise prepare or clean parts.
  • Prepare and apply coatings to materials for nameplates.
  • Prepare materials for chemical etching and coating.
  • Prepare work, clean parts, load and unload tanks, and rinse, dry, buff, or polish as directed.
  • Program and perform new operations and record data for future runs.
  • Record data of tank solutions as required.
  • Set up and operate all power-assisted and power-operated benders.
  • Set up and operate tungsten, arc, gas, and metal inert gas welding equipment to weld metals such as steel alloys, titanium, aluminum, and magnesium using AC/DC equipment and accessories.
  • Set up, load, and operate cranes.
  • Tap, ream, grind, assemble, fit, set up, and alignment of parts in jigs or fixtures preparatory to welding.
  • Touch up any imperfections in coatings before or during the chemical etching process.
  • Unwrap, sort, load, and transport preparatory to electrochemical and chemical cleaning and treating processes.
  • Use hand and power tools, equipment, and measuring instruments such as wrenches, pliers, ovens, ammeters, voltmeters, rules, scales, hydrometers, and micrometers.
  • Use hand and power tools, measuring and indicating instruments such as hydrometers, micrometers, ammeters, voltmeters, thermometers, timers, and chemical testers necessary in performing any of these duties.
  • Work on parts where established tooling or methods may not be available.

  • Must be able to work any shift
