Job Profile
The company is seeking a Production Control Supervisor who will be responsible for managing and developing the Composites value stream master schedule planning activities to support the objectives.
Coordinates communication and data flow between manufacturing, supply chain management, and demand management, including ensuring ERP systems are properly aligned with desired business processes.
Develop and manage capacity planning, master production scheduling, component scheduling, and shop floor control.
Leads, plans, prepares, maintains, and reports on the performance of the Composites schedule.
Accountable for executing all work required to ensure that the production plan is met including planning, scheduling, and coordinating the master demand schedule by reviewing and releasing work orders and inter-site requests following aligning resources with demand based on capacity planning and shop floor control principles as well as controlling and coordinating purchased material and manufacturing labor to meet schedule requirements.
Education Level
- Bachelors with 5+ years relevant experience (preferred) or Associates Degree with 7+ years of experience or 9+ years of relevant experience
Work Experience
- 2 years of hands-on experience with production planning or inventory management
- 2 years of experience leading teams (indirectly or directly)
Certifications
- APICS CPIM, CFPIM, SCOR-P, or CSCP certified (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Capacity requirements plan: lead, create, and maintain a capacity requirements plan that supports the Composites master schedule
- Developing and expressing in ERP the production plan for operations on the Mapex, AS400 with access.
- Leadership: Set objectives for reports; review and monitor the performance to objectives. Select, train, and motivate employees to meet objectives, removing barriers to success whenever possible. Work with employees to develop skills and advance their personal development plan
- Master Production Schedule: Lead, plan, prepare, maintain, and report on the performance of the Composites (Newberry & Estill) Schedule.
- Reporting: Development, maintenance, and communication of key performance indicators that are consistent with executive strategic and plant-level performance measures. Analyze data to identify causes of variances
- Scheduling process: establish evaluation and maintain production planning processes and master schedule review
- Support the creation of production plans for a department, process, or machine that minimizes inventory levels, maximizes customer satisfaction
- Training and growth: Train all new Composites schedulers and dispatches in the business processes and the ERP system. Identify and map growth opportunities for incumbents and reports
- Reports directly to the Materials Manager
- Monitors discrepancies in inventory
- Works closely with Purchasing Team
- Develops shortages of purchase parts
- Establish communication with productions on missing components
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- An understanding of priorities and balancing short-term and long-term requirements
- Demonstrated competence in the planning and setup of the KANBAN pull system
- Knowledge of mathematics and data analysis
- Prior experience with master scheduling utilizing production family methodologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proficient in Lean manufacturing techniques
- Strong attention to detail and quality of work

- A Bachelor’s Degree
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
- Capacity requirements planning experience
- Experience with sales and operations planning processes (preferred)
Work Environment
- Requires up to 5% travel (including overnight stays)
