Job Profile

The company is hiring a Production Facilities Electrician who will be responsible for acting as a subject matter expert.

Be directly responsible for maintaining all plant electrical needs and assisting automation technicians, control technicians, and other engineering teams with production machinery and IT needs.

Strong PLC troubleshooting experience is required.

Also, responsible for providing leadership to the maintenance staff and directing the daily workflow of the team.

Must be self-motivated and demonstrate the strong organizational/time management skills needed to be successful in this role.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a High School Diploma or a demonstrated equivalent

Work Experience

  • Possess 6 years of experience as an electrician in an industrial environment, maintenance shop, or manufacturing facility.
  • Experience with repair on production equipment in an industrial environment or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Adheres to Federal, State, and Local electrical code and be familiar with NFPA70e.
  • Assists IT in terminating cat 5 and cat 6 cablings, tracing, and troubleshooting minor network issues.
  • Demonstrates ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs process/production machines, equipment, and related electrical equipment, such as electrical control circuits from 24v up to and including 480v AC, instrumentation devices, PLCs/ladder logic controllers, and variable frequency drives as necessary.
  • Effectively communicates with the site management team and the customer to understand requirements, solve complex electrical problems, and provide solutions to manufacturing problems
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills, such as motivation, delegation, ownership, leading by example, well-developed organizational skills, excellent communication skills, etc.
  • Integrates systems and applies to production equipment.
  • Maintains a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
  • Maintains current and future plant electrical systems and assists in designing electrical systems.
  • Maintains, improves, and participates in developing control systems, installing electrical sub panels/services, bus plugs,
  • Performs General Maintenance of equipment as required.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Procures parts from crib systems, OEM, or authorized vendors.
  • Provides instruction, mentors, and trains less skilled technicians as needed.
  • Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Runs conduit from ½” EMT to 2” IMC around obstacles across the entire plant.
  • Supports plant electrical expansion projects
  • Troubleshoots electrical components such as, but not limited to PLCs, AC & DC drives, relay logic, single loop controllers, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Understands Amentum’s company policies and enforce safety regulations. Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and Lockout/Tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Work alongside the Electrical Service Company, engineers, and plant leadership to ensure the local grid is functioning at peak capacity.
  • Works with controls and instrumentation such as thermocouples and transducers, as well as primary voltages up to and including 480v.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in Industrial Technology, Industrial Mechanical, or related technical program.
  • Electrical Journeyman card
  • Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial production systems such as switchgear, MCCs, and Capacitor banks.
  • Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing pumps, motors, gearboxes, supply and exhaust fans, power transmission components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems,
  • Experience performing pipefitting, welding, fabrication, and millwright-related work.
  • Experience troubleshooting CNC machine tools and other complex electrical systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing cranes and hoists.
  • Experience troubleshooting robots, such as Fanuc and ABB
  • Experience utilizing measurement tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, various types of gauges, and calibers to set tolerances to OEM Specifications.
  • Experience welding using MIG, TIG, and arc welders.
  • Experience with alignments and timing machines using Precision Laser systems.
  • Experience working around chemicals, precision equipment, and highly regulated materials and equipment.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • Require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
  • Wear steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
