Job Profile
The company is searching for a Production Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing operations of an assigned department to ensure production schedules are met within the required quality standards.
Oversee the sheet metal fabrication and structural welding areas
Educational Qualification
- Associates Degree in a related field, or equivalent industry work experience (required) from a college/university
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred)
Work Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity
- At least 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in sheet metal fabrication or welding.
- Experience operating press brakes or punch presses (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assign personnel to projects based on workload and capabilities.
- Collaborates with other departmental managers to develop and execute budgets.
- Collaborates with other managers and supervisors to coordinate activities in and among departments.
- Collects, evaluates, analyzes, and assesses production data.
- Coordinate and work closely with other departments to assure the attainment of production schedules, quality goals, and safety objectives are met within the deadlines given.
- Develops and implements procedures and strategies to ensure a safe work environment.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health.
- Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in processes, materials, equipment, or skills.
- Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Roles
- Hires and trains front-line staff in assigned departments
- Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Thorough understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective manufacturing and distribution techniques
- Thorough understanding of safety and health laws, regulations, and policies
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the production floor
- Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery
