Job Profile

The company is searching for a Production Operator I who will fill cryogenic liquids and pure non-flammable industrial gases according to Airgas Fill Plant Standard Operating Procedures.

Education Level

  • Not Indicated, a High School Diploma (a plus)

Work Experience

  • Must have the ability to become forklift-certified

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Adjusts valves and observes gauge to fill the cylinder to a specified pressure.
  • Examine the exterior of the cylinder for surface defects such as dents, cracks, or burns, and determine whether or not to quarantine the cylinder for further inspection.
  • Fills cylinder to full capacity, rolls cylinder onto a scale, and connects vent line to release excess gas and attain prescribed weight.
  • Inspects or tests empty cylinders.
  • Observe the scale indicator to fill cylinders to the specified weight.
  • Rolls cylinders onto platform, or positions cylinders in manifold racks manually or with the aid of material handling equipment.
  • Sets pressure gauge to specified reading and watches for indication of full cylinders.
  • Tests gas for purity using testing equipment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
