Job Profile
The company is hiring a Production Supervisor who will organize, coordinate, and supervise employees and activities within the fabrication department to ensure an effective and efficient fabrication operation that meets safety, quality, and production standards.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Work Experience
- 5 years of production supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, desired Computer literate with experience using IFS and Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a comparable heavy manufacturing environment
- CWI or CWS certification is a plus
- Experience in Hydraulics, mechanical and electrical
- Industry experience is a plus
- Knowledge and experience with Lean principals and 5S process improvement.
- NDT Experience is a plus
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assigns work to department personnel to attain department objectives using knowledge of production processes, company policies, production schedules, work orders, equipment capacity, and employee capabilities.
- Ensure 100% product document traceability is kept up to date.
- Ensure proper project pieces are produced according to customer and or company specifications.
- Establish and control procedures to ensure the production of conforming fabricated assembly components.
- Establishes and controls procedures to meet production schedules
- Establishes and monitors cost control systems to achieve department budget objectives.
- Evaluates employee performance and accountability.
- Facilitates and promotes company policy and the company Quality Improvement program within all department workgroups.
- May be exposed to excessive noise, welding gases and fumes, and varying weather conditions.
- Monitors and controls established procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Provides objective feedback for continued employee growth.
- Provides training, support, direction, and guidance to department personnel to continually develop their work habits, job skills, and safety practices.
- Read and understand project drawings and specifications.
- Readily perceives and effectively responds to schedules and product flows essential to supervising highly productive, cost-effective, quality-oriented manufacturing operations.
- Recommends and initiates improvements to production processes, to increase manufacturing efficiency.
- Recommends or administers personnel actions following company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for compliance with safety and housekeeping requirements
- Set department goals and develop an outline for achievement.
- To work overtime as required based on company needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Ability to learn and understand software and complete transactions about fabrication or welding operations, excellent verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to understand and apply workplace safety procedures
- Computer literate with experience using IFS and Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrates ability to supervise diverse work groups in a team environment using effective listening, coaching, training, investigative and problem-solving skills, ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment, and effective time management in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
- Knowledge of OSHA and demonstrated record of safety-focused leadership.
- Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment required
- Proficient in FCAW, Sub Arc Welding, Arc Gouging, plasma cutters, Oxyfuel cutting, and other similar equipment.
- Read and interpret weld process according to AWS and ASME
Work Environment
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently lift or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.
