Job Profile
The company is hiring a Production Supervisor with the ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities under the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Experience
- 5 or more years of managerial/supervisory roles
Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist employees in solving work problems for all areas of the facility on the night shift.
- Assist with hiring, training, evaluating employee performance, and recommending or initiating promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Ensure failed products are repaired to meet specifications and consistently work to minimize rework.
- Establish production targets and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of orders for the Finishing Department in addition to monitoring the progress of all other departments operating on the night shift.
- Inspect parts to ensure that they meet specification requirements and are within tolerance specifications. Inspection requirements include blast profile, layout, and coating thickness.
- Maintain a hands-on approach to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods with consideration to all appropriate Environmental, Health & Safety as well as Quality standards.
- Primary contact on the night shift regarding disciplinary issues and plant emergencies.
- Requisition material required to meet production goals.
- Responsibilities in other departments include checking layouts, machined dimensions, and molded part configuration.
- Reviews specifications, blueprints, and work orders to communicate requirements and assign duties to employees – Able to interpret all blueprint details for all departments running on night shift.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Finishing Department to ensure smooth operations and optimal performance.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to foster teamwork, manage performance, build collaborative relationships, possess customer orientation, implement result orientation, sustain personal credibility, and maintain initiative
- Basic computer skills
- Extensive knowledge and experience in industrial coatings application, blueprint interpretation, steel fabrication/welding, machining, and rubber molding processes
- Manufacturing background
- Physical demands such as sitting, walking, or bending, specific lifting requirements (50 lbs.), or other requirements such as vision or hearing
