Job Profile

The company is searching for a Production Welder who will operate various welding equipment to produce product parts to established blueprint and engineering specifications.

Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants may be required a High School Diploma
  • Basic welding training or experience.
  • A formal apprenticeship or technical school training is preferred.

Work Experience

  • Experience and skill in welding using Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) and MIG Welding (Gas Metal Arc Welding/GMAW) (required)
  • Experience and skill in welding using TIG Welding (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding or GTAW), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Stick Welding (Shielded Metal Arc Welding or SMAW), and Resistance welding would be an advantage.
  • Experience in a production environment is an advantage.
  • Training/experience in general safety practices in an industrial environment and welding-specific safety practices in particular (required)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Being punctual and reliable by observing all work rules.
  • Checking output to ensure consistency with specifications and identifying defects.
  • Correctly using and maintaining tools/equipment necessary for the welding process.
  • Identifying and communicating maintenance and repair needs for production equipment to help prevent downtime.
  • Keeping records of approved and defective units or final products.
  • Knowing and following all applicable environmental, health, and safety (EHS) rules in the performance of the job.
  • Learning and following the proper sequence of events/actions (SOEs) for the completion of each assigned job.
  • Maintaining clean, safe, and organized work areas.
  • Participating and fully supporting safety programs (ex. BBS).
  • Performing routine maintenance to production equipment and making minor adjustments/repairs to equipment as needed.
  • Produce high-quality parts in a production environment by joining metals using a variety of welding processes and equipment. The primary welding process required for this position is Submerged Arc Welding (SAW). Other welding processes include MIG Welding (Gas Metal Arc Welding or GMAW), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and TIG Welding (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding or GTAW) and may include other welding processes such as Stick Welding (Shielded Metal Arc Welding or SMAW), and Resistance welding.
  • Reading technical drawings, production documents (ex.: Operational Method Sheets), work instructions, and quality documentation (ex.: assembly Travelers) to understand specifications and requirements of output.
  • Responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of welding equipment, hand tools, fixtures, gages, and precision measuring tools.
  • Responsible for working in accordance with predetermined safety, quality, method, and sequencing standards according to Standard Work/BOS.
  • Taking measurements and completing production/quality documentation to record key measurements and operations.
