Job Profile

The company is looking for a Project Engineer who will be responsible for project engineering activities in the planning, design, and maintenance of substantial and complex projects.

Operates with wide latitude with little review of actions and decisions.

Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and purchasing personnel; external suppliers, and customers as well as.

Education Level

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of Project Engineering Experience
  • Minitab or other statistical software experience (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of Engineering or Equipment Design Experience
  • A high degree of computer proficiency is required (MS Word, Excel, Access)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in establishing project priorities.
  • Assists in developing long-range plans.
  • Conducts on-site inspections of engineering projects to ensure that work is conducted according to sound professional engineering principles and practices and meets applicable engineering design and construction standards.
  • Conducts studies and determines equipment needs.
  • Coordinate outside contractor work activities with maintenance personnel or production personnel as required to minimize impacts on cost and production.
  • Creates and adheres to detailed project schedules/timelines.
  • Develop cost justifications for improvement projects and corrective actions.
  • Develops scope of work for engineering studies, process improvements, installations, and equipment purchases.
  • Oversees the design and construction of specific process equipment. After construction, it may assist in equipment testing, operator training, and start-up.
  • Performs research to solve specific design problems.
  • Prepares and analyzes Bids from quotes.
  • Prepares Capital Expenditure Requests (CARs)
  • Prepares major Maintenance proposals.
  • Prepares, analyzes, selects, modifies, and evaluates engineering designs, drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and cost estimates for major construction/installation projects.
  • Provides support for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
  • Reviews and recommends contractor bids and capabilities and the engineering feasibility of project proposals.
  • Selects and recommends equipment in terms of cost and design.
  • Writes specifications.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Additional Duties-

  • Function as part of Continuous Improvement Teams as required.
  • Performs Complex Calculations
  • Work with maintenance craftsmen and operations to resolve equipment failure as required.
