Job Profile

The company is recruiting a QC Inspector (Welding) to join its team for manufacturing operations.

The position will contact to the assigned work team, Quality Supervisor, and Engineering and Production teams.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants require Level 1 CSA 178.2, CSA W59/W47 endorsements

Work Experience

  • Possess 1 to 3 years of quality control experience in an organization that has an established quality program
  • Carpentry, Electrical, or Sheet Metal background (an asset)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist marking with engineering changes where drawings are not correct and submit to Quality Supervisor.
  • Assist with the education of other inspectors and production team members.
  • Complete subassembly inspections such as motor, coil, EVAP, furnace, and paint.
  • Complete unit final inspections.
  • Daily inspection of in-process units: ensure sealing is completed, no missing parts, and all other in-process inspections are of high quality.
  • Daily inspection of paperwork for all in-process units and report any deficiencies to Quality Supervisor.
  • Inspect all aspects of units with the appropriate forms from the beginning to the end and record all discrepancies.
  • Inspect all welded carbon steel and aluminum parts to meet code
  • Inspect drawings and marking/breaking work and ensure it is correct
  • Organize all inspection documentation papers and online photos
  • Performs all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
  • Report any observed safety issues to the Safety Coach or Safety Coordinator.
  • Review inspection documents and make unit packages
  • Strong welding background
  • Other duties as required

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to manage change on the floor and work well with shift supervisors
  • Courses with a focus on quality control or quality systems
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, detail-oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Practical experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Some formal or practical exposure to quality control concepts
  • Strong ability to read shop drawings
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Working Conditions

  • Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment)
  • Commercial/Industrial environment
  • Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards
  • Long periods of standing
  • Overtime as required
