Job Profile

The company is seeking a Quality Control Inspection Tech I who will be responsible for the safe testing and inspection of all products manufactured at the site following high-level safety policies and procedures, manufacturing methods, codes and standards, and the ISO 9001 certified Quality Management System.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • 5 years of manufacturing experience (welding and fabrication are a plus)
  • Preferred candidate would have SNT-TC-1A based, ASNT or Company Computed Radiography and Ultrasonic Flaw Examination Level II Qualifications and Certifications (NDE LII Phased Array UT a plus).
  • Quality Control Certifications are a plus (AWS CWI, API, etc. would be a plus, but not required)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist the Inspection Supervisor in assigning and training inspection, test, and other personnel.
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement activities to improve the facility’s production and QC efficiencies.
  • Performs fundamental in-process inspection and testing to verify process control, equipment capability, and product integrity. Inspects machinery, equipment, and assembly operations on a periodic or sampling basis. The technician develops inspection results on reports, check sheets, or other records.
  • Performs goods receiving inspection and certification review of purchased items. (Experience with SAP would be a plus but not necessary)
  • Responsible for planning inspection techniques, locating inspection points, determining sample sizes, applying gauging principles, and producing Inspection & test Plans and Inspection records.
  • Responsible for the performance of quality control inspections related to the fabrication of large, welded pressure vessels and their internal components. Inspection techniques include but are not limited to visual, dimensional, dye penetrant, computed x-ray radiography, conventional ultrasonics, automated ultrasonics including phased array and TOFD techniques, visual weld inspection, pneumatic and hydrostatic pressure testing, and magnetic particle inspection.
  • The incumbent could have responsibility for gauge control, inventory, replacement program, measurement capability, accuracy, calibration, frequencies, and traceability.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Knowledge and experience in any or all of the following is also required: ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel or AWS Structural Welding Codes, NDT, Metrology, Welding & Fabrication Processes, and Shop Inspection
