The company is searching for a Quality Engineer who will handle process improvement, quality improvement, and customer relationship activities.

Education Level

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Work Experience

• ASQ – CQE certification is strongly preferred or OTJ experience
• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and Six Sigma methodology experience (preferred)
• Preferred metal fabrication or stamping manufacturing experience
• Experience with gauging, GD&T, PPAP, FMEA, and MSA experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to perform quality inspection functions in the Quality lab for daily production environment.
• Ability to run CMM programs in P2 Quality lab.
• Ability to use Minitab to perform and interpret SPC studies.
• Create and implement permanent corrective actions for customer concerns.
• Hands-on working with production staff on Quality processes in the manufacturing environment.
• Interacts with representatives from a variety of functional groups, including Plant manager, Area Supervisors, Quality techs, launch pad Engineering, Purchasing, and Shipping dept.
• Manage and report external and internal quality measurables.
• Manage customer concerns (rejections) and perform root cause analysis using (5Why, 8-D, and or Fishbone tools) with the input of supporting P2 staff.
• Manage Customers’ SPC data collection and reporting program.
• Oversee daily quality lab day-by-day quality questions that may arise. Make decisions of “accept” or “reject” and or recommendations for modifications.
• Program management and oversee the MSA, Fixture, and Gage Calibrations programs.
• Program management of all internal P2 production part Quality and External part Quality coming into P2
• Program management of all Outside source Quality of products coming into P2.
• Provides leadership and guidance to quality control inspectors and area supervisors to ensure Quality Control processes are carried out properly throughout the production processes.
• Review and understand ISO 9001:2015-Dowding Quality Management system.
• Review Customer quality control manual and Customer specifications for suppliers of materials and components.
• Review SPC program for Continuous Improvements on data collection and data inputs.
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.
