Job Profile
The company is looking for a Quality Engineer who will be responsible for applying quality principles to support the production of mechanically manufactured components and assemblies.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards and requirements are met, and drive continuous improvement.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent experience/combined education.
Work Experience
- 2+ years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Master’s degree. Considered experienced, but still a learner.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing Performance Metrics for identifying process improvement.
- Extensive experience in the disposition of nonconforming products.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Applying quality principles in design, manufacturing, incoming materials, production control, and product evaluation
- Performing technical evaluations to ensure product requirements and specifications are met
- Designing and analyzing inspection and testing processes, and conducting product quality tests
- Collaborating with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers on quality-related issues
- Engaging in product failure investigations, material review board decisions, and corrective/preventive action
- Developing strategies to improve internal and supplier performance and productivity
- Evaluating quality systems for deficiencies and recommending corrective actions
Desired Qualifications
- Manufacturing experience in additive manufacturing, machining, welding, and mechanical assembly.
- Experience conducting First Article Inspections (FAI) to AS9102 and working with government customers.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Specifications.
- ASQ certification or Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt/Black Belt).
- A bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline or higher is preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- The selected candidate must be a US citizen and have the ability to maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written) will be necessary to support the assignment and weekly reports.
