The company is looking for a Quality Inspector to join its team.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- Process experience in welding, painting, or installation (required)
- Must be able to do re-work; so, passing a weld test (required)
- Basic computer experience (required)
- Prior quality experience (preferred)
- MIG Welding Experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Authority to stop production if such a condition is found.
- Input data, create charts for posting in the shop, present GEMBA board results, 5S, etc.
- Inspects stations located throughout operations and final inspection to ensure customer satisfaction by assuring compliance with standards and preventing defect escapes.
- Perform warranty duties to assist in the resolution of customer claims.
- Records the defects noted during inspections for problem-solving purposes, communicates results to department leads, performs analysis of data, participates in team problem-solving activities and continuous improvement, and will assist with rework if needed, where time permits.
- Reports to the Quality Manager any conditions/issues that create the potential for defects, as well as recurring defects that may indicate process failure.
- Sustains up-to-date training in Warranty, Layout, and service as the backup as needed.
- Additional duties might be added at the discretion of the quality manager.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to communicate with team members calmly and professionally.
- Ability to use various inspection devices and perform calibrations.
- Ability to accurately follow procedures and protocol.
- Must have an excellent eye for detail and be able to work well under pressure.
- Ability to adapt to continuous change with supporting effort.
- Ability to understand the market and customer needs.
- Ability to drive trucks including manual transmissions.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
- Must be able to work overtime regularly.
- Must be able to work weekends, when needed.
- Must be able to work effectively with production employees to identify issues, have them corrected, and have the root cause removed.
- Must be able to squat, climb, and stand for 10 hours.
