Job Profile
The company is recruiting a Quality Manager who will ensure that quality system requirements are established, implemented, and maintained following internal and customer quality requirements.
Report on the performance of the quality system to plant management for review, lead continuous improvement efforts as they relate to internal and external quality needs, and supervise a Quality team.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or one of the physical sciences (preferred)
Work Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in quality supervision, quality engineering, manufacturing, corporate administration, or engineering
- Practical experience in quality system implementation and auditing
License/Certification
- American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Actively participate in and lead continuous improvement efforts utilizing lean, CI, and quality tools.
- Audit the plant quality systems, processes, and products. Initiate corrective action when required.
- Ensure the implementation and administration of the Modine Quality System at the plant, which includes ensuring adherence to all agency and company test requirements.
- Establish, monitor, analyze, and report on the major quality indicators of the plant. Develop improvement targets and plans to address/correct deficiencies.
- Exercise authority to prevent shipment of non-conforming products.
- Facilitate plant-wide corrective and preventive action and problem resolution of customer complaints, field failures, and product returns to ensure prompt and effective responses.
- Initiate and participate in quality planning for the products and processes of the plant.
- Plan, develop, and provide training to improve the technical competency of quality personnel as needed.
- Supervise and direct the activities of the quality department staff.
- Manage, train, develop, and motivate the Quality Department employees to achieve the overall quality goals and tasks such as –
- Meet test specs and work requirements
- Participate and facilitate product and/or process improvement teams
- Train employees in the use of quality systems and tools
- Audit manufacturing processes
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Experience in establishing and implementing strategic plans for quality policies and procedures
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 and other worldwide quality management systems
- Strong project management and leadership skills
