Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Quality Technician who will be responsible for performing product inspections and audits.

Products and materials are related to switchgear, relay panels, substation enclosers, sheet metal, welding, paint, and other components.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in quality inspections in a fabrication/manufacturing environment

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensures raw materials, in process, and finished products meet company standards
  • Keeps inspection and measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and notifying management when repairs are necessary.
  • Performs visual inspections and other specified tests of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to confirm product meets drawings and specifications
  • Documents inspection results by completing inspection reports, logs, and checklists
  • Perform audits of quality control programs, first article inspections, and calibration, inspecting flat blank layouts, out of box audit (OBA), and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials.
  • Purge materials
  • Update general documentation (Quality alerts)
  • Uses observation and testing to identify faults in materials and manufacturing processes
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to handle multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail with the task at hand
  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the ability to safely operate powered equipment (forklift, reach truck, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft
  • Thorough understanding of the product or process being inspected

Work Environment

  • Dexterity and accuracy as needed to operate testing equipment or gauges.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform inspections.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to traverse the production facility to conduct inspections.
  • Must wear PPE, such as gloves, safety glasses, a hard hat, and ear protection, while working on the production floor
  • Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
