Job Profile

The company is looking for a Rack Repair Technician who will perform all necessary repairs on damaged shipping or in-house product containers.

Perform TPM on all shipping racks or containers.

Responsible for repairing steel racks/bins/knockdown plastic containers to bring them to a good workable condition. This could involve welding all types of steel and fabrication of simple tools, simple jigs, and fixtures that will allow checking racks quickly.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)

Work Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in Automotive or industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience in welding (Mig, ARC), drilling, and grinding (preferred)
  • Experience in basic machining such as milling, turning, cutting, and fabricating

License/Certification

  • Kamtek forklift Certification (required)
  • Kamtek certified forklift operator

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in the fabrication of simple tools, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Hand tools – grinders, drill press, and hand drill.
  • Must be able to work from blueprints or sketches.
  • Responsible for supporting preventative maintenance for racks.
  • Welding – Mig & Arc, cutting torch.
  • Welds on all types of steel.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Proficient in Mig and Arc welding
  • Technical procedures/blueprints

Work Environment

  • Follows safety protocols and uses protective gear and tools
  • May work at heights or in confined spaces during repairs
  • Performs physical tasks, including lifting, climbing, and welding
  • Regularly exposed to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
  • Works in warehouses, distribution centers, or industrial facilities
