Job Profile

The company is looking for a Road Mechanic who will ensure compliance with all railroad, safety, operations, and federal railroad administration rules and regulations.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should be High School Graduates
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

Work Experience

• Possess experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems including the ability to read schematics (preferred)
• Experience in other mechanical-oriented occupations will be considered.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform heavy repairs to all types of equipment components including engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, working components, conveyors, booms, buckets, and electrical systems.
• Solve work-related problems, make decisions, provide instructions, drive heavy-duty service trucks, often pull a trailer, and understand mechanical, electrical, and automated operations of machinery.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Driver’s License, the ability to obtain a CMV or CDL (required)
• Must be able to read and speak the English language (because this position requires following government regulations and instructions)
• Must have a valid driver’s license on the date of hire
• Must have good communication skills and a strong mechanical aptitude
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to comprehend and comply with instructions
• Ability to lift 50 to 80 pounds on a frequent basis
• Ability to read hydraulic and electric schematics
• Some welding experience
