Job Profile
The company is seeking a Robotic Welder II (Tanks) who will operate various robotic equipment, perform overhead crane moves of tooling and flight hardware, conduct manual blending operations, operate fixture tooling, and execute precision drilling for internal tank installations.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, truck-trailer combinations, and other group support equipment as required
- Assist with the transition from development to production, including the first articles
- Manual blend operations
- Manufacture, assemble, and test mechanical, fluid, and electrical flight hardware assemblies according to written procedures and engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures
- Operate robotic weld systems
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
- Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and Safety
- Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections of engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written work instructions
- Precision drilling by engineering drawings and specifications for internal tank installations
- Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and optical measuring instruments
- Setup new production work areas, including layouts, tooling, and equipment
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct discrepancies by modification, rework, repair, or maintenance
- Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as climbing ladders/stairs, lifting heavy items > 50 lbs., and blending welds
- Ability to work any shift, extended overtime hours, and weekends if/when necessary, as directed
- Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
- Ability to work in confined spaces for extended periods
- Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Aerospace/Launch vehicle production, testing, and assembly
- Experience in handling large aerospace components and flight hardware
- Experience in precision drilling applications and assembling tight tolerance structures
- Experience with multi-axis robotic systems
- Industry certification, trade school training, or degree in a related field
- Military Experience
- Sheet metal experience (fabricating, assembly, and installation)
