Job Profile

The company is hiring a Seamer Welder Operator to join its team.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED (required)

Work Experience

• 6+ months previous applicable experience (preferred)
• Aluminum welding experience (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to cross-train on all fab equipment and machinery.
• Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
• Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
• Examine work pieces for defects and ensure conformance with specifications.
• Keeps work area clean, including machine surfaces, at all times.
• Must understand and comply with all safety features of the fabrication equipment.
• Must understand and comply with all safety policies of the company.
• Operate equipment and use safe work habits.
• Operate seamer and other equipment used in the fabrication of tank trailer parts.
• Position and secure workpieces using hoists, cranes, wire, banding machines, or hand tools.
• Set and operate welding equipment.
• Set up and use ladders and scaffolding as necessary to complete work.
• Thorough understanding of flat pattern layout.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Work in an efficient and timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Understanding of print reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
• Ability to bend, twist, climb, crawl, and stoop repeatedly throughout the day.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
