Job Profile

The company is hiring a Secondary Department Lead who will oversee production flow, maintain general production housekeeping, and manage employees.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assign daily workload to Machining and Finishing Dept. personnel as needed.
  • Assists in managing and directing all machining and finishing operations and personnel as needed.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.
  • Checks parts on CMM.
  • Cleans and maintains machines and ensures the work area is clean and orderly.
  • Completes machine setup and troubleshooting.
  • Completes tool changes such as replacing and presetting tools.
  • Develops and documents new procedures/work instructions as needed.
  • Inspects castings using various hand inspection tools, leak testers, and air gauge equipment. Maintains record of inspections.
  • Observe all Boyd safety and OSHA guidelines and procedures.
  • Operates all machines, including CNCs, Shot Blaster’s, Vibratory, Drill Press, Belt Sander’s, and Hot Dip Wash Tanks.
  • Operates forklift to deliver/remove parts to maintain continuous production.
  • Performs CNC program edits as needed.
  • Performs floor rounds and verifies production and quality of parts.
  • Supports and follows the QMS requirements.
  • Trains new employees on day-to-day operational tasks and safe work habits
