Job Profile
The company is seeking a Senior CNC Programmer who will develop the programs, post-G-code, and machine a variety of 3D-printed engine parts.
Develop first article programs and optimize them into production programs.
Be able to write a manufacturing plan, develop your tooling and fixtures, and collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop new machining processes.
Education Level
- Degree in engineering or related technical field and 6+ years of relevant experience
Work Experience
- 6+ years of experience in CNC machining
- 5+ years of programming experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Someone who can program and operate multi-axis machines (2-axis, 3-axis, 5-axis, mill/turn)
- Someone with experience programming and operating DMG-MORI machines (NLX, NTX, DMC FD, and DMU series)
- Someone who can optimize programs and postcodes using Esprit, Mastercam, or similar CAM software
- Someone who has run lights-out production before
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a startup or agile development environment
- Experience machining 3D-printed parts
- Experience working in a flight development program
- We believe varied perspectives and backgrounds strengthen our team. Prior experience in aerospace is not required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to manually edit G-code paths/settings to optimize production programs
- Ability to perform basic machine maintenance such as oil and coolant refill, including cleaning and sharpening
- Ability to program and operate multi-axis high-precision machines (5-axis, 3-axis, lathe, mill/turn)
- Ability to train operators how to set up and run machines
- Experience creating detailed set-up instructions
- Experience machining Inconel or similar nickel alloys
- Experience transitioning parts from the first article to production
- Strong communication skills and ability to understand work instructions
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up
