Job Profile
The company is recruiting a Senior Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for leading selected projects, including research, selection, justification, startup, training, troubleshooting, and achieving target conditions.
Support the manufacturing team in meeting customer demand and ensuring the creation, correction, and interpretation of drawings, BOMs, routings, and transactions.
Provide direct supervision to the maintenance team and mentorship, development, and support to other Manufacturing Engineers.
Improve business practices and enhance processes within the manufacturing unit.
Lead by example, promoting a positive culture, ensuring a safe work environment, and demonstrating honesty and respect towards others.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience of 10 years in an engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, including 3D drawings, improvement projects, and capital projects.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Expertise in 5S, waste elimination, and other lean principles.
- Knowledge of ISO and AWS standards.
- Proficiency in creating and utilizing 2D and 3D drawings using CAD and SolidWorks.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Identify, justify, and implement opportunities for make-or-buy decisions.
- Lead or assist in leading various manufacturing-related projects, including capital expenditures, product line transfers, lean improvements, and the ongoing robotic welding project.
- Provide mentorship and support to Manufacturing Engineers.
- Supervise the maintenance associates directly.
- Uphold and promote Senneca’s Mission and Values while ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional groups, such as engineering and sales.
- Proficiency in automation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action.
Work Environment
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- High noise levels due to production equipment operation
- May exposure to production shop conditions, including moving mechanical equipment, various fumes, heat, cold, and irritants.
- May require sitting, walking, and standing for extended periods.
Tools/Equipment-
- Familiarity with machinery, equipment, and measuring tools relevant to the manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in computer usage, phone systems, ERP software, design software (CAD and
- SolidWorks), and maintenance software.
- Mandatory use of safety glasses and safety shoes on the shop floor.
- Other personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, such as hearing protection, tinted eyewear, and cut-resistant gloves.
