Job Profile
The company is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible in the design office for Lead engineering and design tasks of the assigned projects based on specific and detailed instructions received from the assigned supervisor as to the required tasks and results expected.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in a mechanical or related engineering discipline
Work Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the Power Generation Industry with familiarity with all associated systems of a combined cycle power plant
- Strong background in heat exchangers, pumps, ASME pressure vessels, and ASME piping code
- Experience in the specification of fixed and rotating equipment
Duties/Responsibilities
- Seals and signs all documentation produced by their work. May also seal and sign work done by engineers under direct supervision.
- Attend Client, Vendor, and Internal Team meetings.
- Develop job notes and technical scopes of work.
- Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
- Manage Project Schedules and Budgets as well as provide weekly reports to communicate project status, issues, and needs.
- May supervise, coordinate, and review work of a small staff of engineers or technicians on assigned work.
- Perform equipment technical bid evaluations and prepare recommendations.
- Perform field walk-downs to collect information required to complete work.
- Prepare and maintain resource plans.
- Prepare equipment inquiry/RFQ packages.
- Prepare man-hour estimates for proposals.
- Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, to implement operating procedures, and to resolve system malfunctions.
- Provide specific to discipline technical expertise to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel, both within the company and for the customer.
- Provide strong leadership to drive mechanical technical design and project coordination.
- Review equipment vendor documents for compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Serve as a Mechanical Lead or Mechanical Technical Lead on Combined Cycle Power Generation projects.

Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Mechanical Engineering experience in the Industrial Construction, Diversified, Food/Beverage, Fermentation, or Pharmaceutical industry (preferred)
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Full and ongoing compliance with and adherence to all vaccination requirements, as may be established by the company from time to time or by or for a particular job site.
- Knowledge and familiarity with API Standards and Recommended Practices applicable to the specification of refinery fixed and rotating equipment
- Knowledge of the ASME Codes for pressure vessels and piping systems
- Must maintain active status in a drug or alcohol testing consortium
Work Environment
- Work in multiple environments, including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on construction sites.
- On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high.
- Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment, and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking.
- Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.
Physical Demands
- Required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi-limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension.
- May be required to lift, carry, and move objects safely.
