Job Profile
The company is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will utilize his/her engineering degree and project management skills to develop standard and custom products.
Work on all stages of a project, from development through installation and commissioning.
Responsible for all mechanical design considerations to develop and support water treatment dissolution and filtration products, ensuring Chart engineering design standards and customer specifications are met.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants require a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar from a college/university
- MS Degree or PE (a plus)
Work Experience
- Possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant engineering experience (required)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the engineering, design, fabrication, and commissioning of mechanical equipment used in water treatment, pressure vessel, boiler, or oil and gas industries (preferred)
- Experience with manufacturing facilities (preferred)
- Previous experience in water treatment (a plus)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Create plans, designs, and customer solutions for assigned products and projects
- Develop and maintain bills of materials (BOM) for projects, specifying appropriate components
- Read and evaluate customer specifications, code, and other industry standards
- Support on-site start-up and commissioning of projects as needed
- Work closely with CAD designers to prepare and coordinate general arrangement (GA), submittal, and final design fabrication/assembly drawings
- Work with Application Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CAD Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams to meet customer and engineering requirements for fabrication, assembly, and shipping
- Work with Sales and Application Engineering teams and customers to gain a better understanding of system requirements and their impact on system design and proposed solutions, including evaluating process flow diagrams (PFDs) or process instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple tasks
- Understanding of process diagrams, fluid flow in pipes, pump selection
- Understanding cryogenic liquids, compressed gases, and their properties (a plus)
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office: esp. Excel, but also Word and PowerPoint
- SolidWorks CAD skills (preferred)
- Finite Element Analysis skills (preferred)
- MathCAD or MATLAB skills (preferred)
- Exposure to JD Edwards, SAP, or similar ERP system
