Job Profile
The company is seeking a Senior Project Engineer who will focus on designing and planning of layout for assembly and materials handling.
Support the production deliveries and implementation of process improvements in the powdered metal-making process.
Report directly to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Engineer, Project Engineering will be
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations, program/project, or quality environment
- Master’s Degree and 3 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations, program/project or quality environment required
Work Experience
- Welding knowledge and structural fabrication and design experience
- Familiarity with the production of powder metal manufacturing with knowledge of welding applications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Proficiency in SolidWorks, experience with creating and modifying 2D and 3D models and drawings
Duties/Responsibilities
- Adaptation of machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions to produce super alloy metal powders; planning of sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product powder cleanliness and equipment design improvements
- Support suppliers with manufacturing methods and processes necessary for the fabrication and assembly of internally designed equipment; investigate and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment problems
- Providing input on plant layout, capital equipment, and suppliers capability; providing input for process improvement, cost reduction, and automation; independently run capital projects ranging from life extension programs on current equipment to new design and build projects for upcoming equipment
- Design and detail custom equipment and machinery for use in powdered metal production
- Maintaining and driving continuous improvements to manufacturing standard work, ensuring alignment with internal customer requirements and systemic audit findings
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology
- 2 or more years of manufacturing or machine design experience
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- US citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
