Job Profile

The company is looking for a Senior Tax Accountant who will perform professional U.S. tax accounting work in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and relevant tax legislation.

Be responsible for the collection of tax-related information, reporting to tax authorities in a timely manner, and preparation of income tax provisions.

A remote work arrangement is available for this role or may be worked out of any US StandardAero facilities.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (college/university), or equivalent
  • Designated or enrolled in a recognized professional accounting program (CA, CMA, CGA, or CPA); or equivalent
  • Master’s Degree or MBA (preferred)

Work Experience

  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices.
  • Working knowledge of Canada or U.S. tax legislation and reporting requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Advises management on the impact of new tax laws.
  • Collects tax-related information and completes required tax reporting in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate audits by various taxation authorities.
  • Determines withholding tax requirements for payments to non-residents and completes related reporting.
  • Identifies and implements tax savings opportunities.
  • Interacts with and advises various functional groups on tax-related issues.
  • Maintains a schedule of required tax payments, advises Treasury personnel of cash requirements, and remits payments in a timely manner.
  • Prepares and updates tax provision schedules, reviews tax provision worksheets received from related companies, and assists in the preparation of the consolidated tax provision.
  • Recommends tax strategies by researching relevant tax legislation.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Carries out special projects as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Good planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision-making, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers in the current company operating system environment.
