Job Profile

The company is searching for a Service Mechanic to join its team.

Education Level

  • Must possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical experience (required)
  • 10 years of mechanical knowledge in basic mechanics (required)
  • Experience with SMAW and GMAW with the ability to pass 3G and 4G plate test (preferred)
  • Forklift experience (required)
  • Heavy equipment maintenance and repair experience (required)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in training new shop personnel.
  • Be able to lead projects in the shop.
  • Calibrate equipment and paint exterior surfaces.
  • Check all structural and mechanical components for defects.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Identify and order parts for shop jobs.
  • Make any necessary repairs and replace broken parts.
  • Prepare equipment for repair by pressure washing, blasting, painting, etc.
  • Assist others in difficult repair tasks.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

Specific Roles-

  • Removing components, rebuilding, and reassembly.
  • Diagnosing failures using measuring tools to support the root cause.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.
  • Ability to assemble and test components with drawings (required)
  • Ability to diagnose defects with the assistance of drawings (required)
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics (required)
  • Ability to read and interpret interconnect and wiring diagrams (required)
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and dimensional detail drawings (required)
  • Must have basic and advanced mechanical tools.

Work Environment

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (required)
  • Ability to work at heights from 20’ to 100’ (required)
  • Factory environment with a large range of temperature changes.
  • Must use hands to handle, control, or feel objects and tools.
  • Overtime may be required during weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, crouch, crawl, or kneel required for extended periods (required)
