Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Sheet Metal/Lagging Installer who will perform various duties involving installing metal/lagging and insulation under minimal supervision with little to no assistance.

Requires knowledge of sheet metal/lagging practices and procedures and the willingness to lead and teach others in this trade so the team can be successful.

Educational Level

• High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

• 3 plus years of Lagging/Sheet Metal experience
• HVAC experience (preferred, but not required)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Be able to perform work in a safe and timely manner.
• Connects pieces or secures seams by riveting, rolling, or using steel screws.
• Consult blueprints, work orders, or schematics to safely construct specified structures; develop additional sketches if needed.
• Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions.
• Develops and maintains records for projects and repairs.
• Maintains clean and orderly workspace.
• Measure, cut, and install insulation to shells, ductwork, and piping.
• Measures, and cuts according to specifications, blueprints, or directions.
• Performs assigned work in the lagging department.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Selects appropriate material for each job per process sheet.
• Use hand tools to bend, shape, and form metal.
• Uses appropriate machinery to complete assigned jobs.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to climb stairs and work in temperature ranges corresponding with the outside ambient temperatures.
• Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on cement surfaces and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat, climb ladders, and perform work in confined positions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Will require working in areas up to 15 feet from the ground.
