Job Profile

The company is seeking a Shop Foreman who will supervise and coordinate the activities of shop operations managing the overall performance of all areas of the shop: equipment, personnel administration, and work schedules.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • High School Equivalence Certificate

Work Experience

  • 5 years of combined experience as a Mechanic, Welder, and Supervisor preferably in the heavy-duty truck industry.
  • Hands-on Diesel Technician Experience
  • Experience leading Technicians
  • Experience Counseling Technicians
  • Experience improving Technician efficiency

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Be sure that the shop is operated within OSHA standards
  • Communicate with employees and management on a regular basis to ensure FleetPride and industry-acceptable procedures are followed, new procedures and methods are considered, and new approved methods or procedures are known and carried out on a timely basis.
  • Counsel employees in work-related activities, personal growth, and career development.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures, and abide by same.
  • Invoice all completed Repair orders the day the work is completed.
  • Make sure all FleetPride safety programs are followed and training is completed on a timely basis.
  • Obtain and maintain shop equipment for proper servicing of heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Provide on-the-job training whenever necessary and appropriate to employees and follow up to ensure desired and expected results are achieved.
  • Report work-related injuries of shop workers to our safety department via Intellex as soon as possible but never later than 24hrs.
  • Responsible for the preparation of work orders and invoices for service work in accordance with company procedures.
  • Responsible for the quality of all completed work before it leaves the shop to ensure proper work has been done.
  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion, in order to ensure that it has been performed effectively. Manage technician productivity through the use of Productivity reports.
  • Review all open repair orders weekly and delete any that are not current.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
