The company is searching for a Shop Labourer to join its team.
Education Level
- High School Diploma
Work Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing and or refurbishment environment
- Overhead crane experience (an asset)
- Previous related experience (an asset)
- Progression to trade positions is possible with experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Arrange and organize materials for jobs.
- Assist Journeymen welders, mechanics, and machinists. Follow directions from peers and supervisors.
- Duties in the manufacturing and or refurbishment process for general labor tasks.
- Duties may include moving machinery, tools, and products to correct shop locations using an overhead crane/telehandler or forklift.
- Learn equipment operation and help load/unload plasma table operation.
- Mechanical assembly assistant. Dress dippers, doors, saddle blocks, and other common mechanical tasks.
- Painting components
- Prepping components for shipping i.e. strapping pallets, and arranging with the warehouse to receive components for shipping.
- Show some skill with hand tools and assembly or fabrication skills.
- Strong focus on shop cleanliness and removing excess material/garbage daily
- Track and manage inventory on consumables and usage.
- Other duties, as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have a strong safety focus
- OSSA, CSTS, Class C First Aid
- Qualified candidates will have strong work ethic and mechanical ability
- Valid Driver’s License and own transportation (required)
- Welding/grinding skills (an asset)
