Job Profile

The company is seeking a Solderer/Welder who will perform a variety of welding operations with diversified materials to fabricate or repair components to exacting requirements.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school is preferred

Work Experience

  • The candidates should have 3 to 5 or more years of related experience or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Certificates/Licenses

  • PQR ASME Section XI, weld process GTAW for 316L SST, 316L SST to Hast-C 276 materials.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Completes welding on assemblies that have been set up and tach welded by others, making welding beads to specified sizes.
  • Interprets blueprints and sketches. Works from drawings and/or written and verbal instructions.
  • Lays out and sets up work. Determines operational sequence and devises suitable holding fixtures.
  • Moves materials to and from work areas as needed.
  • Performs TIG, acetylene, tack-weld, and spot-welding operations.
  • Provides training or instruction of co-workers and other employees when needed.
  • Selects proper rods, tips, gas pressures, and current settings.
  • Varies procedures and techniques according to nature of work.
  • Welds, cuts, bends, melts, or silver solders ferrous and non-ferrous materials and alloys.

Physical Demands

  • The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment 

  • Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and is caused by the vented fume collector.
