Job Profile
The company (KSPS) is looking to hire a Pipefitter to join its team for various client sites within the U.S.
Educational Qualification
- No education level is mentioned, yet having a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- Must have at least 2 to 3 years of journeyman pipefitter/rigger experience
Credible Things
- 10+ years of experience as a journeyman pipefitter/rigger
- 2 to 3 years of experience in furnace/reformer tube removal and replacement
- 2 to 3 years of experience operating tugger beam tube extractor
- Basic Plus Orientation and Confined Space Training
- Previous experience in a heavy industrial construction environment
- Strong knowledge of P&IDs, ISO’s, and orthographic drawings
- Successful completion of a Pipe Fitter or Rigger NCCER craft assessment test
- Vocational training
Duties/Responsibilities
- Able to position and clamp together components of fabricated metal products to prepare for welding.
- Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding and threading joints without errors.
- Basic knowledge of P&IDs, ISOs, orthographic drawings, and other piping-related drawings.
- General knowledge of flange isolations including blinding, opening, modification, and repair of piping systems.
- Manually handling and securely applying rigging equipment.
- Must be able to bevel pipe by hand or with a beveling machine.
- Operate tools and equipment including beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, oxygen acetylene/map gas torches, magnetic drills, and a Saw-Zall.
- Perform Burner extraction and installation.
- Perform crane signaling/flagging to extract or install equipment.
- Possess skilled knowledge of pipe fittings, bolts, valves, etc. as required.
- Read isometric drawings, take measurements, and fabricate and install piping efficiently and without errors.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints, ISOs, P&IDs and can utilize them to identify and properly install associated piping
- Must be able to meet all physical and work environment requirements
- Must be able to provide your own transportation to job locations throughout the US
- Must be willing and able to meet all Company and Customer project entry requirements including training, background check, and drug test
- Must have current TWIC Card or ability to obtain one if required
Physical Demands
- Candidates must also be capable of climbing ladders, and scaffolds, and working at heights.
- Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., unassisted.
- Candidates must be able to work long hours and all shift schedules that may require up to twelve hours a day, seven days a week for extended durations.
- Good manual dexterity for the use of common hand tools, and power tools and the ability to navigate around obstacles in a petrochemical environment are necessary.
- Must be able to perform work wearing personal protective equipment including but not limited to rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air-purifying respirators, safety harnesses, FRC coveralls, hard hats, ear plugs, and safety glasses, etc.
- Respiratory Protection Fit-Testing and Pulmonary Function Testing are required. Additional examinations, such as a pre-employment physical, hearing, or vision test may be required per client guidelines.
