The company is seeking a Senior Welding Engineer to join its team.

Educational Qualification

The applicants should have either of the following school/university degrees-

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering program from an ABET-accredited
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from an accredited program

Work Experience

  • The candidates should have 6 years of experience in engineering or technical activities

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Applies technical engineering skillset to analyze process efficiency, troubleshoot defects, perform quality control functions, and drive cost savings
  • Develops robust and repeatable joining procedures for high precision components using welding processes like Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Electron Beam Welding (EBW), Laser Beam Welding (LBW), Resistance Welding, and Vacuum Furnace Brazing
  • Evaluates, applies, and develops complex welding specifications in cooperation with the customer
  • Performs Welding Engineering duties to support daily welding operations
  • Presents technical reports and communicates technical, directly to customer subject matter experts
  • Writes weld qualification reports, weld procedure specifications, and work instructions

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to be company spokesperson for key programs
  • Ability to interpret, negotiate and capture customer requirements
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new processes and materials
  • Demonstrated ability to create and edit complex engineering and process equipment software
  • Experience leading matrixed and multi-disciplinary teams and assignments
  • Experience performing welding engineering or similar metal product processing
  • Experience using and developing weld procedures for EBW, LBW, GTAW, Resistance Welding, or Furnace Processes
  • Expertise in estimation methods, critical path analysis, and contemporary program management trends and practices
  • Expertise in integrating multiple, complex business and technical/engineering processes
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in complex engineering or program management processes, principles, and architecture with a progressive history of responsibility
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management principles
  • Proven ability to mentor, coach, and lead program management personnel and other staff in a matrixed management environment
  • Proven excellence in communication, interactive presentations, and negotiation skills. Ability to routinely represent program management and company to stakeholders
  • Research and development experience in welding processes or welding metallurgy
  • Strong desire to drive advancements in welding technology and processes
  • Technical understanding of stainless-steel welding metallurgy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Welding, Metallurgical, or Materials Engineering from an ABET
  • PMI certification preferred. EIPM and IPDS experience
  • Expertise using Primavera P6 scheduling software
  • Accredited program/university

Other Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required in order to obtain and maintain a US Department of Energy Q-level security clearance
