Job Profile
The company is seeking a Supervisor – Block Plant who will be responsible for supervising the production of a quality product at acceptable cost levels. The responsibilities include the efficient and effective utilization of human resources, plants, and equipment.
Educational Qualification
- The applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree from a college/university
- Associate Degree or Equivalent in related areas
Work Experience
- Possess 5 years of experience in a production supervisory role
- 3 years of operations experience in continuous process
- Previous Production Management, Plant Manager, and Maintenance Management experience preferred
Duties/Responsibilities
- Based on sales and inventory needs, schedule block plant production
- Batch and adjust mix designs as required
- From time to time, may be requested to assist other block operations employees to solve complaints
- Hire, train and supervise an adequate number of employees to meet the needs of plant operations
- Ensures proper maintenance of plant production equipment to minimize lost production time. This includes maintaining adequate spare parts inventory
- Ensures safe work practice by all block plant employees
- Ensures that production meets or exceeds established quality standards
- Maintain positive customer relations by responding to, and resolving complaints
- Order supplies, parts, and materials required for operations
- Orders raw materials to meet production and inventory needs
- Perform moisture analysis on aggregates daily; adjust mixes for moisture content
- Perform plant startup and closing procedures
- Perform routine mechanical/electrical repairs and preventative maintenance
- Perform troubleshooting and problem solving as needed
- Performing bulk and physical inventories
- Prepare daily production reports, downtime reports, and other paperwork as required using CEMEX-required computerized forms and systems
- Responsible for filing and documentation systems
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment
- Responsible for maintaining quality block production
- Train and cross-train plant personnel as required
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Background in electrical and electronics areas
- Experience with the types of production equipment being used in the production process
- Familiar with the mill supply industry with respect to parts and purchasing
- Field experience with construction and particularly with the site contractors
- Good communication and human resources skills are required
- Has the ability to motivate the production team
- Possess background with experience in materials engineering
- Possess management skills
- Strong maintenance knowledge/skills; strong electrical troubleshooting skills
Working Conditions
- Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors
- Must wear protective equipment while at the location
Physical Requirements
- Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing to a significant degree, or pulling of controls
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
Other Requirements
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic controls and assemblies
- Working knowledge of all aspects of control circuits
- Basic OSHA requirements
- Knowledge of mixed design and material requirements
- Metal fabrication (welding and cutting)
