Job Profile
The company is recruiting a Swiss Machinist II who will operate CNC Swiss (STAR) Turning Centers machine cells as well as standalone machines, which requires basic machine setup including preparing and setting up fixtures and cutting tools, as well as loading and adjusting CNC programs and offsets.
Ability to use more advanced quality inspection tools and techniques such as height and air gauges and bench inspection.
Basic competencies in print reading and common CNC G and M codes.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
Work Experience
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in aerospace/automotive machining or related industry.
- Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, CELOS controllers, and Bar Feeder Lathes.
- Certifications in CNC operations (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain the work area
- Completes work order documentation following AS9100 quality standards
- Deburr parts as required
- Inspects produced components per blueprint using standard inspection techniques
- Light Maintenance Duty of equipment
- Loads/unloads parts in the provided work holding method per setup
- Replaces broken cutting tools/inserts as needed
- Set up and Operate CNC SWISS (STAR) Lathe
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should know basic computer use. Applicant should be familiar with CNC machining methods.
- Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
- Frequently work near heavy machinery or equipment
- Demands of a manufacturing environment
