Job Profile
The company is seeking a Tank Foreman who will be responsible for directing personnel in the safe execution of the site-specific scope of work items outlined in the contract documents.
Responsible for all associated paperwork and documentation.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Foreman experience
- 2 plus years of experience as a field foreman in the AST (Above Ground Storage Tank industry)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Complete all general site paperwork including timesheets, T&M sheets, and purchase orders.
- Complete any required HMT Data Sheets (roof drain systems, suctions, seal data, etc.).
- Ensure that all employees are working in a safe manner and environment. Field Foremen are to fulfill all requirements outlined in the HMT Safety Manual, site-specific requirements, and customer-specific requirements.
- Ensure that all HMT and customer specifications, guidelines, and programs are being followed and documented as required.
- Ensure that work is being performed efficiently with manpower, equipment, tools, and consumables.
- Initiate and manage the daily tailgate safety meeting and JHA.
- Must maintain a positive attitude with crew members.
- Red-line construction drawings as required for approved scope changes. Provide sketches of existing customer equipment associated with our scope (platform connections, ladders, catwalks, and any piping).
- Responsible for compliance with all QA/QC requirements including contract drawings and specifications.
- Responsible for managing the field crew in the performance of daily tasks.
- Responsible for onsite customer relations.
- Responsible for the training of crew members in the art of tank building. Field Foreman are expected to train prospective employees to become Field Foreman.
- Work with the Project Manager and Superintendents/Construction Managers to understand the scope of work and bring to their attention any potential problems and issues. Communication with the Project Manager should continue regularly.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Must be able to read prints and written instructions as well as follow verbal directions as required to perform duties and responsibilities as listed below.
- Heavy lifting will often be required to perform tasks.
- Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb.
- Must be able to perform required duties for extended periods inside confined spaces, often with breathing equipment required.
- Must be able to tolerate extreme weather conditions for extended periods.
- Must have TWIC Card
- Willingness to travel (75%+)
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to complete all required paperwork associated with safety and QA/QC without assistance.
- Ability to handle multiple jobs concurrently (able to manage up to 15 employees).
- Ability to handle multiple jobs concurrently.
- Ability to interpret field and fabrication drawings.
- Able to communicate via email and phone.
- Able to give clear and concise instructions to multiple employees in the execution of work.
- Certified Rigger. Understand and follow rigging practices.
- Detail-oriented, Excellent organizational skills
- DOT OQ qualified
- Maintain accurate Field Progress Reports.
- Possess knowledge of automatic welding and burning equipment. This would include the ability to run, repair, and train others in the use and operation of this type of equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel, climb, carry, push/pull, and use repetitive wrist and hand movements.
- May be required to lift or move objects of up to 50 pounds. Hearing, seeing the ability of rapid mental coordination. It is required to be mentally alert for the entire regular shift.
- May work in various locations within the U.S. Some locations may be subject to extreme temperatures, working in high places, etc. Potential for exposure to temperature changes, wetness, confined spaces, fumes/odors, working with ladder/scaffolds, working with pressurized equipment, high places, hazardous materials, and working alone.
