Job Profile

The company is looking for a Tank Welder to join its team for a tankage project.

Education Level

• Not mentioned, yet a basic school education will be a plus

Work Experience

• 2 years of tank welding/shipbuilding experience or equivalent heavy fabrication
• Previously Coded welder
• CCNSG safety passport
• Proficient in the use of MMA welding techniques

Duties/Responsibilities

• Maintaining and checking own small tools and equipment
• Preparation of worksite (barriers, access routes, cables, sheeting, signage, etc.)
• Reading and interpreting drawings
• Reading and interpreting weld procedures
• Recognition of material to be welded
• Setting up of AC and DC machines
• Storage and treatment of electrodes
• Use gas-cutting equipment (burning gear)
• Use power tools in the back grinding of welds
• Use welding tools and equipment.
• Welding of steel Tank plates (butt welds, fillet welds) in line with Weld Procedure Specifications (floor, shell, roof)

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Be proficient in more than one of the welder coding qualifications (multi-coded). MMA, etc.
• Knowledge of effects of climate conditions on welds.
• Knowledge of safety precautions and risks associated with tasks
