The company is seeking a Team Shift Lead Welder to join its team.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of Supervisor/Leadership experience (required)
  • 2+ years of fabrication experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert on the fabrication process and provide guidance and expertise to resolving issues
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement of our products and processes to better serve our customers and improve the Company’s overall profitability.
  • Analyze diagrams and specifications and cut all metal accordingly with the help of a welding torch
  • Analyze rejects and complete required paperwork
  • Approve your team’s actual worked time daily, and make necessary corrections.
  • Coordinate with Production Supervisor workforce planning to maximize efficiency and personnel to complete daily assignments and projects
  • Evaluate engineering drawings and ensure implementation according to welding specifications
  • Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products
  • Follow all procedures and processes to build a defect-free product. Complete required in-process inspections, inspect products in the absence of a quality auditor, and provide feedback. Repair any defects found and document critical quality information as necessary
  • Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements; Set an example for all team members in all areas of safety. Coordinate movement of all hazardous materials with Material Hand
  • Fulfill role as substitute fabricator for gaps in the assembly production line
  • Identify, find solutions, and implement corrective actions to address production system issues including the ability to operate and maintain all tools and equipment related to the assembly area. Notify the Supervisor of needed repairs
  • Input Maintenance Work Orders as necessary; Ability to input and scan work order data into MRP system using RF scanner, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area complying with all 5S initiatives; Set an example for all team members in all areas of housekeeping.
  • Perform all welding work with the help of forming and cutting equipment
  • Perform efficient welding of various metal objects with the help of a gas torch and welder
  • Perform work with the help of various hand and power tools
  • Provide training and guidance to co-workers, as needed

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea
  • Basic reading skills. Must be able to follow directions
  • High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
